On the Issues . . . Our Schools Our children deserve the best possible education, and our schools are among the best. I will fight to get us our fair share of state funding to keep our schools “at the top of the class.” Elder Care and Services I will work to help our elders maintain maximum independence and dignity. I will work tirelessly to ensure we have the best in services to promote the welfare and enhance the quality of life of our seniors. Housing Housing is the linchpin issue. Rapidly rising home prices has put the goal of home ownership beyond the reach of most working people on Cape Cod.   This affects our workforce, our schools, and our economy.  I will make housing a top priority.  I will work to free up state funds, streamline grant processes and make the system more efficient so we can create the workforce housing we need. Our Economy As a business owner I know the challenges of our economy firsthand.  As your State Representative, I will work to bring quality jobs to the region, to keep our existing economies strong and vital, and to enhance our local industries, including the arts, fishing, tourism, and healthcare. Health Care I believe access to quality healthcare and medication is a fundamental human right, and should not depend on employment or income.  I will work to pass legislation that truly provides healthcare and affordable prescription drugs for everyone.  Our Environment Our quality of life and our economy depend on a healthy environment. The purity of our harbors, embayments, and ponds is being threatened.  I will draw on my direct experience to support each town and the region as we address our wastewater needs.  I will fight to insure that our beaches and harbors are clean, our drinking water is pure and our open space is well managed. Renewable Energy The Lower and Outer Cape is an ideal location for land-based wind turbines.  I will work to ensure wind energy is economically feasible and to make the dream of clean, reliable, and renewable energy a reality.
